Free Meals for children - now includes breakfast

Picture of red apple

Starting Monday March 30th, La Grande School District will be serving breakfast and lunch meals under the Seamless Summer Option program for our District's K-12 students and for all youth 18 years old and younger  (this includes younger siblings or youth from outside the area).   Each child may pick up  one breakfast and one lunch meal each week day at one of the following locations until schools reopen.  A parent, guardian or sibling may also pick up a meal for a sick child who remains at home.  Children and youth will not be asked for their name, identification, or school of attendance.  We will simply be counting the number of youth who pick up meals and filing for reimbursement based on this count.

The "Grab and Go" sack breakfast and lunch meals will be available for pick up between 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the main entrance to Central Elementary, Greenwood Elementary and Island City Elementary Schools.  Meals will need to be consumed at home or at another location as a dining area will not be provided as we do not want the students to gather at the serving locations.

Adults who would like to purchase meals will have the ability to pay $2.45 for a breakfast meal or $3.80 for a lunch meal, if they so choose.

Please contact Chris Panike or Char Hampton (see contact information below) if you have questions.  Also, please forward this information to anyone that would benefit from this program.
