Pandemic Response Information from LGSD

virus words

La Grande School District takes the health and safety of our community very seriously. Our district utilizes a pandemic plan that helps us with our decision making as well as implementing procedures around enhanced safety and preventative measures to illness.

The district has many students and staff that work with students, families, and the public. Our district has student athletes, coaches, administrators, teachers and staff that attend many events in the district, throughout the community, region, and state.

At this time our district is not restricting travel and the situation is fluid as it relates to limiting exposure;  It is reasonable to assume that in the normal course of business and interactions that take place throughout humanity there will be opportunities for exposure to the COVID-19 virus.

To be clear, this is a healthcare and humanity issue and our district will continue to work hand in hand with OHA and UCHD to investigate and respond to situations that involve potential levels of exposure to COVID-19.

All presumptive and confirmed cases will be handled seriously by the local public health department. They will complete a contact investigation. If our students or staff that attended an event, were exposed to a confirmed or  presumptive case their families would be contacted directly or the school would be contacted to notify us of the exposure.

Our district will be implementing procedures around monitoring absenteeism;  Ensuring all school busses are sanitized after morning and evening routes; Increased cleaning and sanitizing throughout the school;  Enhanced school cleaning; Social distancing procedures;  Increased handwashing and Sanitizer procedures, etc.

Our district has developed a COVID-19 Information Resource Website. Please explore this website as needed.
