Students Enjoy New Phraseology Game

Students and staff at Central Elementary are having fun with words and letters with the school’s new Phraseology Game.

Lynnette Murasky, the school’s Library Clerk, got the idea for the game from Greenwood Elementary (where they call it The Wall of Babble). Murasky said the purpose of the game is having an activity that gets the whole school involved.

The Phraseology Game displays a different phrase or book title every week on the wall outside the library. Murasky explains that the game is similar to The Wheel of Fortune. One class is picked per day to guess a letter; if that letter is not on the board, the letter is put outside of the board so the classes walking by will know that letter is not in the phrase or book title. Murasky leaves the phrase or book title up until someone guesses it correctly.

“Students have a lot of fun trying to guess what the phrase or book title is. It seems to be a competition between the classes who can guess it first or with the help of their teacher,” Murasky said.

If a class solves the phrase  guesses correctly, they get a popcorn party and a Thumbs Up trophy.

Keep up the good work and fun, Cougars!
