Every Monday, we look at the Oregon Reopening Metrics Dashboard to determine if/when we can return to on-site instruction in a Hybrid model. State data for Oregon and Union County has been updated based on the last 14-day period (11/22/20 - 12/5/20). The data for Union County is attached below this message. Based on this data; The absolute case count is 156 cases; The positivity rate is 12.9%. We are encouraged by the decrease in both of these rates over the last week. However, we are still well above the rates required to reopen on-site.
What does this mean? LGSD will remain in Comprehensive Distance Learning with restricted Limited In-Person Instruction as we enter into our Winter Break period.
Our next update will take place after Winter Break on January 4th based on the data from 12/20 - 1/3. This information will help LGSD determine if we can return to school. The earliest opportunity for LGSD to return to on-site instruction is January 11 if the Metric data is favorable. If the data is not satisfactory for safe return, LGSD will remain in CDL until our county meets required case counts and test positivity rates to reopen under current state guidelines.
