La Grande School District Responds to Rumors of Threat at Middle School
La Grande School District is aware of rumors circulating among students regarding an alleged threat involving La Grande Middle School, including claims of a potential threat involving a weapon.School administrators have worked closely with Union County and local law enforcement to thoroughly investigate these reports, including interviews with students, the student involved in the allegations, and relevant family members, as well as gathering additional information. At this time, no credible evidence has been found to substantiate the reported threats.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. Out of an abundance of caution, law enforcement will maintain a presence on campus throughout the week, with increased patrols in the surrounding area.
We appreciate the cooperation of our students, families, staff, and local law enforcement partners as we work together to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
